What a wonderful week of morning sport we have seen! It has been a super chance for all children (and some parents and staff) to play as a team in competitive matches. These mornings really showcase the sense of community we have here at Foremarke and how well we encourage and support each other. That sense of spirit and togetherness is what makes Foremarke so special.

I’d like to highlight yet again the unfailing enthusiasm my PE Department have for their subject. I know they have been fighting each other this week over morning slots to play various matches before school starts. This means extra organization, extra work and earlier starts for them. They are a dedicated team and are wholly responsible for the truly excellent standard of sport that we have at Foremarke.

Sport aside, this weekend sees the start of the holy month of Ramadan, a time of fasting and prayer throughout the Islamic world. Some of our parents have very kindly filled the Foyer with beautiful purple hanging decorations which will make this part of the school look wonderful at this important time. I’d like to extend my thanks and gratitude towards these parents for their time and effort. I wish you all a very peaceful weekend.

Sunday 28th 08:45amPrep Assembly (2AS) – Prep Hall Lower

Ramadan Timings begin – school finishes at 1.30pm for all pupils.

‘Safeguarding is everyone’s business’

Please be reminded that the school has a ‘No Nut or Tree Nut’ policy. The school will be vigilant in monitoring the children’s lunch boxes and will enforce the rule of ‘no sharing’. All parents and visitors to the school are expected to support this by not consuming nuts or nut products on the premises or by reminding other parents or visitors that do not comply.

Ramadan Assemblies

During the holy month of Ramadan, assembly time will be very limited. Unfortunately this means that there will not be time to share children’s personal achievements in activities outside of the school day. The children are welcome to bring any medals, badges and certificates received to share with the class.

Libraries open during Ramadan

A message from Mrs Bond, Dubai Public Libraries are open throughout Ramadan. A great opportunity for us all to read books for free and perhaps experience events that will undoubtedly help us all to understand more about local culture and heritage.

Libraries are open every day until 8pm. For more details, see the link attached.

An extra incentive?

Please make sure you tell the librarians that you are from Foremarke School when you register; our school will then qualify for a gift of free books in the near future.

Thank you for your support.

Foremarke Hall UK Visit to Foremarke School Open Evening

Current and prospective parents came together last week to hear the Foremarke vision and the plans for the opening of Years 7 and 8.  Mr. Merriman, Headmaster of Foremarke Hall, UK, was on hand to talk about the partnership between the two schools along with Mr. Hanson, the CEO of the Independent Association of Prep Schools.  Foremarke School is an IAPS World Hub School and Mr. Hanson spoke of the prominence of the school within IAPS in the Middle East.
